You can ask us to delete your Lunu account and the data associated with it at any time. This page explains how, what is removed, and how long it takes.
Cancel your subscription first
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Premium is billed by Apple through your Apple ID, not by us, so it would keep renewing even after your Lunu account is gone — and once the account is deleted we cannot help you sort it out.
Because of that, the app will not let you delete your account while a subscription is still going to renew. It shows you a notice and takes you to the right screen instead. Cancel in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device, and once it is cancelled you can delete the account.
How to delete your account
Option 1 — In the app
Open Profile → Delete Account. You will be asked to confirm, and the deletion happens straight away.
Option 2 — By email
If you no longer have the app installed, send an email to support@lunumusicgroup.com with the subject "Delete my account".
Send it from the email address you use to sign in to Lunu — that is how we verify the request is really yours. We will not action a deletion request that arrives from a different address, because we have no other way to confirm who you are.
If you signed in with Apple and chose Hide My Email, your account is
registered under an Apple private relay address (it ends in
@privaterelay.appleid.com). Send the request from that relay address, or include
it in your message so we can match it to your account.
What gets deleted
- Your account and the email address attached to it.
- Your playlists and their contents.
- Your subscription record on our side (plan, status and renewal dates).
- Downloaded audio and app settings stored on your device — these are removed when you delete the app.
If you signed in with Apple
When you delete your account from inside the app, we also ask Apple to revoke Lunu's access to your Apple ID at the same time. You do not need to do anything.
If you asked us to delete your account by email, or if the app told you we could not reach Apple, remove Lunu yourself: Settings → tap your name → Sign in with Apple → Lunu → Stop Using Apple ID (on a Mac it is System Settings, same path).
Your Lunu data is already gone either way — this only clears the leftover entry on Apple's side.
What is not deleted, and why
- Anonymous usage analytics. Events such as "playback started" are never linked to your account — they carry only an anonymous device identifier — so we have no way to find yours among them. They are deleted automatically according to our analytics provider's retention settings.
- Feedback you sent from the app. Feedback messages are stored without any account identifier, so they cannot be traced back to you. If you included your email inside the message text and want it removed, tell us and we will delete that message.
- Apple's records of your purchases. These belong to Apple and are governed by their policies, not ours.
- Records we are legally required to keep, such as transaction records for accounting and tax purposes, for as long as the law requires.
How long it takes
Deleting from inside the app is immediate. If you write to us instead, we will confirm your request within 2–3 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days at the latest, usually much sooner.
This cannot be undone
Deletion is permanent. Your playlists cannot be recovered, and any remaining paid period is lost — which is why it is worth cancelling your subscription and waiting until the period ends before deleting, if you have already paid for it.
A note for Android
Accounts and playlists work on Android just as they do on iOS, and this same process applies. Premium subscriptions are currently available on iOS only, so if you have never subscribed there is no billing to cancel first.
